December is the start of summer in Queenstown. The average temperature sits between 8°C and 22°C, and longer sunshine hours mean longer days at that time of the year.
The currency used is New Zealand dollar. Banking hours are usually 0900 -1600hrs, Monday to Friday. Automatic Teller Machines are well spread throughout Queenstown. International credit cards are accepted throughout the country at banks, most hotels and city stores

Good and Services Tax
Goods and Services in New Zealand are subject to a 15% tax (GST). This tax is usually included in the price and if not, it is clearly stated. This tax cannot be claimed back by visitors, when leaving the country
It is strongly recommended that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover the duration of your visit to New Zealand and to protect against cancellation charges, loss or damage to your luggage and personal effects, loss of cash and medical expenses

Public transport in Queenstown
The centre of Queenstown is located just 15 minutes’ drive from Queenstown International Airport. There is a good public bus network which links the main suburbs and outlying areas of the town. For more information visit www.connectabus.com.
You’ll also find free transport provided by many local activity operators making it easy to get out and about and experience what the region has to offer. Many attractions and accommodation options are located in the downtown area and can be reached easily by foot.
The free Essential New Zealand travel app from Tourism New Zealand is available from the App Store and Google play. Make the most of your stay without the need for an internet connection.

Transport from Queenstown airport
The airport is only 15 minutes from Millbrook Resort. Taxis are available at all times of the day from the front of the airport terminal.

Airport Transfers are available at $40.00 per person return, or $20.00 per person one way, subject to availability.

Super Shuttle offers a shared ride option. The shuttles operate from the Shuttle rank at the airport (not the taxi rank). Bookings can be made on the Super Shuttle website www.supershuttle.co.nz.
A taxi fare from the airport to the city centre is around $35. Queenstown Taxis, Green Cabs and Corporate Cabs all offer a meet and greet service. To access this service you will need details of your arrival (date of arrival in Queenstown, flight number, arrival time and number of passengers) and they will arrange for the driver to meet you at the “Meet & Greet” area in the Arrivals Hall. He or she will have a sign-board with your name on it.

No vaccinations are required to enter New Zealand
All visitors to New Zealand must have a passport which is valid for at least three months beyond the intended stay in New Zealand. Visa information and the visa application form are available on www.immigration.govt.nz. If you require a Visitor’s Visa, please allow at least 5-6 weeks for processing.
